New pine needle basket

Gonna try something a little fancier this time.  Not sure what...keep your eyes peeled and I will post progress pics.

Better hope he doesn't puke like he sometimes does in the car.  LOL

Creativity is back!

Picked up the pine needle basket weaving book again.  In Georgia LOTS of pine!  

Hadn't done it in a couple of years, so I did a practice piece.  Gonna say its a hotpad, when warm it smells like a pine forrest mmmmmmm.

Gonna gift it to a friend.  Guess who?

My daughters little dog!

My daughter has a little dog also.  (She swears she's not like me though, LOL)  

A couple of months ago she left him with me and my two for a week or so. 

I was looking through some pictures this morning, probably because of Mother's Day, and found these. 

His name is Zedicus.  Zed for short, after the wizard in "The Seekers".

I think he was plum tuckered out and ready to go home. 

She is driving.  Said she couldn't get him to just go lay down on the other seat.  Think he missed her?????

New Artfire Site

Good morning every one.  Pandula here, got a little update for you.  I started an Artfire site yesterday on the advice of my best friend.   Of course it is called Pandula Arts Creations and so far there is only one listing.  It will give me a little bit more exposure and that can only be a good thing.  Of course I will add a tab on my facebook ( more computer work) and I have added the URL in my "Contact me" here on the blog.  It will be constantly evolving just as my other sites, so please take a look when you get the chance.

Has anyone else discovered that all of this computer work eats up my actual create time?

Even better I made a sale on Artfire... my first.  My friend Kraftymax bought one of my pieces that she has always liked.  It is called "She Lives in my Head", think IMAGINATION, not like voices in my head.  LOL  Any way here is a small shot of it.  I am sure she could hear me squeal all the way to Jacksonville.

Thanks again KraftyMax.  Never had a better friend.

Kreative Blog Award

Yesterday I got on line first thing in the morning and discovered I had been given a "Kreative Blogger Award" by Kraftymax.  In honor of that, I am supposed to tell you 7 things about myself that you may not know, and then recommend 7 more blogs for the award.  Soooo here I go!

My little dogs!

Here are a few pics of my little dogs.  The white one is named Lacy.  She's 11 yrs old and has a permanently bad hair day.  She also has what I have tagged as the BUGLE BARK or even the BARK  machine.  Love her...hate the bark.  However, she has been with me for a long time and I am so sad she is getting old.  I don't know what I will do without her when the time comes.

Pretty sure that is why my daughter forced the little brown one on me.  Her name is Wiggles and she is a joy.  She is constantly a happy little soul that also brings me alot of joy.  We just moved here to GA and there is also a large Old English Sheep dog in the house.  

And this is what happens if you stay on the computer toooooo long.

 

 She went under the table and went right to sleep on my feet.

Lacy barks at the other two almost constantly...bummer.  But they just go outside in our big backyard and play.  She is happiest just sleeping by my side and being left alone.  Unless there is a squirrel to chase.  LOL

Zoo trip in Jax

Just thought I would post a few of my pics from our trip to the Jacksonville Zoo!  I hadn't been to the zoo in ages...years in fact.  So I am really glad to have had my own tour guide in my friend Kraftymax. 

Luckily she is also a good photographer.  As you can see I am a huge bird and flower fan.

Sunday morning early

Good morning everyone.  Just a few words.  I am on the final leg of completing one of the drawings I started at Kraftymax's.  First coat of fixative went on last night.  This one is only 5 x 7, done in graphite.  Thought I would give a peek.  Am going to donate to The Pine Cone Tea Cup for her cancer auction.  I call these ( this is the second one) Prisms' of Hope.  Kind of seems fitting.  Let me know what you think.  Of course it is one of my own one of a kind designs and will be signed and dated.  No watermark of course.

Loom finally set up!

Hey guys, Its up and I have pics toooooo!

Ms. Carol surprised me when I got home with a space set up with both of our looms in what would probably be a dining room here in the house.  (The picture is kind of dark but I think you get the idea.)   I got the window...there will definitely be a bird feeder!

Then she took me shopping for the little table that sits on my right hand side with my tools.

Carol has given me most of the things you see here over the years.  Antique Brass handle scissors, Navajo packing comb, wool that I spun for the weaving!  That weaving was my first with my own home spun yarn.

The loom is likened after a Mirrix tapestry loom.  A friend of mine "Buzzy" built it for me.
Janet's (a friend from work) husband built me the table out of plywood that the loom is clamped to.

This is my first old school hook rug.  It is done on burlap and the yarn was scoured and dyed in the back yard in buckets.  I'is dyed with Kool aid and then I spun it myself for several projects.  The blue and brown are store bought.  My friend Ellen, that I also used to work with, bound the edges for me.

This is what is on the loom right now.  I just moved here so I used what I could easily find.  It is a rag rug made with commercially cut fabric and cotton yarn.  It will be a couch cover for the back of the couch at Kraftymax's.  Her dog Ziggy likes to sit up there in the window to sun bath!

Take a closer look if you have time there is quite a bit of history in these pictures.  It is all hand made by the people around me who love me.  They have all contributed anything from their time to their gifts, money and encouragement.  Most of them, as well as many of my other friends, have my work somewhere in their home.  Every gift I have given for the last 12 years or so has been hand made.

How cool is that?

Blog Ranting!

Hi there girls and boys, Pandula here, got a few things to RANT about.

You may or may not know, that aside from my drawings I am also a Tapestry Weaver. This means that on occasion I will also be posting new weavings as well as drawings on my facebook page and this blog.

Sooooo here goes on the RANT!

I have been reading for hours on a particular web site looking for fresh information and/or inspiration...I came across a site that listed "weavers that blog", hours later I have yet to find a blog that ACTUALLY discusses "WEAVING" in the least.  I understand that those of us involved in the fiber arts are interested in a lot of aspects of the craft, i.e. spinning, dying and such, but it seems that if you have a blog on weaving you should have weaving on the blog in some way.

Things like hints and tips, warping, fiber qualities or such.  I LOVE reading about the other aspects of textile arts...but I would also like to find what I am looking for when I do a research on various subjects.

This is why at this point I am going to post information on my weaving, (that is the beauty of the name "Pandula Arts Creations", so that I can post whatever art I am into at that time ), but not call my blog exclusively an  "ART" blog or a "WEAVING" blog.  I can see though, that a weaving blog might be in the works at some time.  Sooooo, girls and boys, that is how I see things.

I really want to find a blog on weaving, Tapestry in particular, that I can follow and participate in.  I am very disappointed, however I will keep looking!

So if you have information, or a site you can send me to help me.  Please inform me and I will let you know how it goes.
