I've been playing around with some ball point pens doing some free hand doodles. Check it out.

Here's the first one. No pencils no erasers just me and an ink pen. Can you say art therapy?

This is number two and I really love this piece it has kind of a bluish greenish teal-ish colors and a purply blue.

Then this one came along. Just a little bookmark. I watercolored the paper before I drew the design and I even burned the edges.

Number four is done on a stretched canvas. Not sure how I feel about this when yet. But I did discover glitter ink pens what fun.

I don't think it's done yet.

This one I really like! It is done on white paper and I used a red pen, a purple pen with glitter in it and a mauve pen.

Everyone says it looks like Hair.

For me I just like how it flows, however I am thinking of doing one it's all sharp points so stay tuned.

Then I did a Pineneedle bracelet. I still really like the infinity design.

So in the last week or so I have done multiple zentangle inspired drawings, three baskets and started a fourth, and a Pineneedle bracelet as well.

Art is a great stress reliever.

Whoops I forgot to show you the baskets…

And then I did a little purple and blue one. That's purple and blue threads of course.

OK I think that's everything now now!

Moved my rv for the second time in two months :-( sooooo, not many posts to blog!

So here we go. Since my last post I have been kind of all over the map with my art. Everything from beadwork to drawing.

Here i just picked up an ink pen with no plan and let my mind and hand just wander. Look what happened.

I call this ZIA doodle "Flo". Probably because nothing about moving just flo's, it is always jagged and difficult for me.

Then I painted over my only canvas. This is for a background to draw on.

Kind of like how I did this one with watercolor...My friend kraftymax asked me for a "bright" sugar skull. She loved him!

Then I did this in my sketch book.

I love green and blue together.

I did this while also painting the canvas background and another background in watercolor. In the process I accidently transferred pink paint from my hand onto the paper...thus the pink ribbon.

Then a little bookmark and I even burned the edges. First time I ever did that.

I clearly have a thing going for this "flowy" design.

Then I tried ballpoint pen on top of the acrylic paint on canvas. Who knew there were glitter ink pens lol?

I am not really sure how I feel about this one. He is kind of on hold while I think of what it needs next.

Then I started a pineneedle basket with whatever supplies I could gather. My usual supplies were not with me and it was my absolute worst basket ever...

Done with cross stitch linen and the tiniest, most brittle pine needles ever. I didn't even put my mark on it.

But my friends daughter wanted it so I gave it to her , other wise I would have cut it up and re-used the wood center.

Now I have my basket supplies and am working on a little 5 in. Oval basket. Ahhhh a comfort zone. Much better.

So for now that is it.

No farmers market right now, but I do have my application in for the Jacksonville Fl Riverside Arts Market!

TADA!!! How 'bout a custom trivet!

i'm getting ready for the weekend at the farmers market. So I've been polyurethane eating and making art as fast as I can. I worked up the tapestry loom…

Already have the inkle loom warped with hand dyed, hand spun silk.

And of course can't forget the Firebird.

And dragon. But I modified him a little. Got rid of the white chest.

I think it looks more cohesive this way :-).

And then I warped up the BIG frame loom with intermesh technique. Purple and blue.

This is the back side.

Front side.

They are called flowers and this will be a cuff bracelet.

Check it out!

It would be totally reversible, except for the lettering.

I surrendered to the power tools today. And I'm okay with it.

Originally I wanted to do my carving with handtools only, I,ve had to rethink that. I really prefer woodchips to saw dust. And I really don't like the noise of the power tools either, but I can't handle the screaming arthritis, sliced hands and sore arms. So this is my compromise.

At least I still get to do woodwork.

When I first started backstrap weaving I discovered that everyone wants to get in to the really complicated weave structures. And that included me.

However, I read a statement from my weaving guru on her blog that stated it was a shame how most people never really fully explored warp faced plain weave. So I decided that I would take the simplest of the weave structures and see just what I could accomplish it. I explored it fully, and I loved every minute of it.

I think that's what I'm going to have to do with my woodworking. Explore my small power tools to their full potential.

Simple power tools, I don't have big ones. I have a very nice Dremel with the flex shaft on it, I have a sander, and a power drill and I think I'm just going to have to go with that. Someday I'd really like to have a lathe maybe even a small tabletop lathe! But for now this is what I have to work with that doesn't keep me and screaming pain.

So, without further ado here are a couple of pictures…

I do still have a little bit of pain in my shoulder, that car wreck really messed up my shoulders, but no worse than when I do my basket weaving.

They are right out of the oil bath in these pictures.

I also finished up a custom order for a couple of tree ornaments. And the wall art that I've been doing for a friend of mine with her baby girl's birth announcement on it wasn't going the way I wanted it to, so we started that over also.

Sanded the board clean, and then we fought with the two-month-old baby until we got some cute hand and feet prints. Who knew how hard it would be to get one little baby To unball her fist. Lol

Pictures of that will be coming when it's finished. In the meanwhile everybody have a good afternoon and I'll talk to you soon.

Have been steady working on my art, especially since the transmission is out in my car. I have plenty of time on my hands…

So here's the tiny basket.

And on to other things. I have been thinking very hard about drawing a skull on a piece of wood, for selling of course. Skulls are not typically my thing, I like happier art, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Especially since a friend of mine gifted me some reclaimed wood from the bookshelf.

It'll be great for practice as I do not want to risk ruining a piece of my cedar planking. So here's the first line drawing I came up with.

Be kind, and keep in mind that I am not going for realism. Just representational art. I kind of like the crooked eyes, but he doesn't look as mean as I would like for him to yet.

I might even Zen tangle him, I'm just not sure what to do with it as yet.

And speaking of Cedar planking a friend (same friend that gifted me the reclaimed wood that the skull is on). of mine found a way to cut some of my slabs for me check it out…

They Measure approximately 13 in. X 9 in. And they were free!!! Even better!

I have also been working on a custom order for a friend of mine. Christmas tree ornaments and a piece of wall art with her new baby girls feet prints and birth announcement on it for her grandma. I'm going to do that on a piece of cedar it should be beautiful, so keep watching we'll see what happens.
