Homemade Pot holder loom

Ok so it's complete.  This one turned out great (so far).  I don't have it off the loom yet so fingers crossed.

It has two shades of purple thread along with a silver thread all head together (triple strand).  I also figured out how to incorporate a little bit of design.  YEAH!  Tell me what you think.  The pictures run from beginning to end.

I think the two stripes of basket weave pattern adds a nice bit of texture. Very pretty.

Would love to know how you did it? What kind of yarn you used? It's so beautiful! I have a lot of store bought looms and never saw this technique. Is it a potholder or a doily. Just love what you did!!!

Hi there "I Craft Therefore I am", I hope you get this as I can find no way to reply to your comment other than here.

The loom was built for me by a friend about 8 yrs. ago. This is called weaving on a bias technique, and you can find it on just about any Weavette, or small loom web site. If you contact me with a e mail address or something I will be glad to help you find information on it.

Thanks for the lovely compliment...and by the way this one turned out too "AIRY" and I don't think it ever got used for anything. It was definitely an experiment to combine the basketweave with the plain weave. My yarn was too fine also! Live and learn...
